My goal this year is to finish at least *one* long term project that I’ve had sitting around for years. I’ll usually pick up one of these projects, work on it for a week, then put it down for the rest of the year. I never understood why us crafters have certain projects that we can’t seem to get through until an ungodly amount of time has passed. They aren’t super large projects either – I guess we get a bit bored and want to cast on (or start) the next thing.
I’ve always loved the idea of have a big floppy sun hat, but could never find one with a fabric band that I liked. I found this wild print hat at Charming Charlies for $20 and thought it would be a super easy project to rip off the leopard print band (ugh!) and replace it with something a little bit more “me”. Turns out I was right – it only took me about an hour to do, mostly because I had to iron my fabric a few times and figure out how to make the proper bow for you guys.
Last week I showed off one of my new vintage finds – this art deco chair. While I absolutely loved it and the velvet cushion, it just didn’t fit the decor in the my office. On a whim, I decided to dig around in my fabric stash and found the perfect fabric – cute hedgehogs! This project literally took less than five minutes to do!
